SUSTAINING ACADEMIC STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE: CMC Conducts Academic Council Meeting

On March 29, 2023, Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) held its fourth Academic Council Meeting at the CMC Accreditation Office, with the participation of faculty members, administrators, and student representatives. The council’s primary responsibility is to oversee academic policies and programs at CMC and ensure that the institution maintains its academic standards.

During the meeting, Deans, Program Heads, and Support Services Unit Heads of different programs presented updates on their accomplishments from January to March 2023, based on the Annual Operational Plan. This indicates the college’s dedication to achieving its objectives and sustaining its academic standards.

The Council deliberated on a range of academic topics and policies during the meeting. The updates provided by program heads were essential in ensuring that CMC met its plan and maintained academic standards. The council reviewed the updates and suggested improvements where necessary.

The Academic Council at CMC is accountable for creating academic programs, policies, and regulations that govern the institution. Its functions and objectives include developing curricula, evaluating academic policies and programs, providing accreditation, supporting faculty development, and managing student affairs and other student support services.

Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, CMC’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the Academic Council’s significant role in maintaining academic standards and education quality during the meeting.

The fourth Academic Council Meeting is a testament to CMC’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement. The council’s efforts and contributions are critical to providing quality education and maintaining academic standards at the institution.
