The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) is a four-year degree program that provides academic and appropriate training for future elementary school teachers of Grades 1 – 6 through the general education courses, professional education, and specialization courses. The program culminates with an extensive teaching internship in various cooperating schools, both public and private, under the mentorship of highly experienced professional teachers.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
• Show an in-depth understanding of the diversity of learners in different learning areas;
• Utilize assessment and evaluation tools appropriately in measuring learning outcomes;
• Make use of skills in communication, higher-order thinking, and use of tools and technology to improve learning and teaching;
• Exhibit positive attributes of a model teacher, both as an individual and professionals.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of Bachelor of Elementary Education may pursue a career path in any educational institution. They could apply as a preschool teacher, teaching assistant, private tutor, or subject teacher.
BOARD EXAMINATION
To become a Licensed teacher in the Philippines:
• A Bachelor of Secondary Education graduate needs to pass the Licensure
Examination for Teachers (LET).
• A Bachelor of Elementary Education graduate needs to pass the Licensure
Examination for Teachers (LET).
• The examination is conducted by the Board of Professional Teachers under the
supervision of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED)
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare students for becoming high school teachers. The program combines theory and practice to teach students the necessary knowledge and skills a high school teacher needs. The program aims to produce competent teachers who provide a conducive learning experience to their students.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
• Explain the rootedness of education in philosophical, socio-cultural, historical, psychological, and political contexts;
• Demonstrate mastery of the discipline;
• Facilitate learning using various teaching methodologies appropriate to learners and their environment;
• Develop innovative curriculum, instructional plans, teaching approaches, and resources for different types of learners;
• Abide with professional and ethical teaching standards, whether it’s local, national, or global.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of Bachelor of Secondary Education may pursue a career path in any educational institution. They could apply as a teaching assistant, private tutor, subject teacher, high school teacher, or English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher.
