CMCs VPAA Dela Cerna
judges students innovations at Ecosummit 2023
Ecosummit
2023, the 3rd Youth Environmental Forum, was held on February 3–4, 2023, in
Davao City, Philippines. The event was organized by the Samahan ng mga
Mag-aaral ng Pamantasang Ateneo de Davao, the Davao Association of Catholic
Schools, and the AdDU University Community Engagement and Advocacy Council,
with the aim of promoting climate action among young people.
The
event featured a Project Pitching Segment, where four schools from the Davao
Association of Catholic Schools presented their sustainable solutions to environmental
problems. The event also included a series of storytelling fora, which took
place at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Ateneo de Davao University.
CMCs Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna served as one of the judges evaluating the presentations. Each team was given 25 minutes to present their project and 5 minutes for feedback and suggestions.
“Our youngsters must be engaged in promoting climate action. This is crucial for mitigating the impacts of climate change, ensuring a sustainable future, and raising awareness about the importance of sustainability. By educating and empowering young people, they can take personal responsibility for addressing the effects of climate change and lead their country towards a sustainable future.” Dela Cerna shared.
Congratulations
to the winners of the Project Pitching Segment! Together, let’s work towards a
greener Mindanao, the Philippines, and the world.
