

CMC welcomes CHED XII RD Alibin
Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) welcomed Commission on Higher Education (CHED)- 12 Regional Director Dr. Nelia A. Alibin on August 26, 2022. Through the Culture and Arts Office, the CMC Senior High School Golden Phoenix Dance Company presented its live cultural performance during the welcome presentation. Likewise, members of the Board of Directors, College Deans, and Unit heads expressed their warm accommodation to the said partner institution representatives.
The visit included a brief program that featured virtual tours of the campus and student life at CMC during the pandemic. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna, also gave his Academic Milestones, in which he summarized the state of the academic programs, successes, and future goals at CMC. He also emphasized the institution’s gains in Accreditation and Internationalization endeavors. “We will relentlessly continue to provide this city with our accredited academic programs with Quality and Excellent Education that will prepare our students to become Globally competitive individuals. Indeed, these Academic efforts are a clear manifestation that we are still ALIVE at 75! ‘ Vice President Dela Cerna said.
Further, Physical Plant Officer Engr. Bonifacio T. Aznar, Jr. shared his Development Plan for the campus, which is set to be launched on the 75th Founding Anniversary of the institution. As a response, RD Alibin has fully expressed and acknowledged the efforts made by the CMC Administration for its warm hospitality. To cap off the day, she has granted Government Recognition (GR) to CMC for its two academic programs | The Bachelor of Physical Education and the Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
The issuance of this Government Recognition is anchored to CHED Memorandum Order No. 09 Series of 2018, this is by the provisions of Republic Act 7722, otherwise known as the Higher Education Act of 1994, and according to the provisions Republic Act 10931, otherwise known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, and Rule IX, Section 55 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA No. 10931, and by Commission en banc (CEB) Resolution No. 047-2018 and No. 219-2018, the Commission hereby promulgates the following guidelines on the eligibility of Local Universities and Colleges (LUCS) to carry out the free higher education provision of RA No. 10931. The said GR is issued by CHED to institutions that operate a particular higher education degree program. This is a great indication that CMC adheres to the quality standards of the commission.
