CMC Signs
Letter of Intent with UiTM Malaysia: CTE Boosting International Connection
Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) has taken another significant step
towards enhancing its international connections and partnerships with the
recent signing of a letter of intent with the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM)
of Malaysia. The ceremony took place at the UIC Father Selga Campus, Davao City,
on March 28, 2023, and was attended by representatives from both institutions.
The event was marked by brief presentations by Senior Lecturer Dr.
Khadijah Said Hashim and a message from the Consulate General of Malaysia in
Davao City, Consul General Deddy Faisal Bin Ahmad Salleh.
The CMC delegation, comprising College of Teacher Education Dean
Dr. Jaymie A. Rellon, Secretary to the CTE Dean Mr. Christian B. Melaño, and
CTE Practice Teachers President Missie Grace Castillano, officially delivered
the Letter of Intent to the representative of the Fakulti Pendidikan of UiTM.
The signing of the Letter of Intent marks another milestone in CMC’s efforts to
establish international partnerships and collaborations with higher education
institutions.
CMC has been actively pursuing internationalization initiatives to
provide its students and members of the CTE faculty with opportunities for
study abroad, international internships, and cultural exchange programs. These
initiatives aim to equip students with intercultural competence, language
skills, and exposure to different perspectives and ways of life to help them
succeed in today’s globalized world.
CMC recognizes the importance of promoting international peace and
understanding through its internationalization initiatives. By encouraging
cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration among students and faculty, CMC is
fostering a more peaceful and interconnected world.
Additionally, CMC’s efforts to bring a global perspective to its
community through hosting international scholars, conferences, and events are
enriching its curriculum, research initiatives, and community engagement
efforts. The signing of the Letter of Intent with UiTM is a testament to CMC’s
commitment to intensifying its internationalization initiatives and
establishing new partnerships and collaborations with higher education
institutions.
These efforts will help CMC provide its CTE students with a
well-rounded education that prepares them for success in today’s globalized
world while contributing to a more interconnected, peaceful, and prosperous
future for all.
