CMC Joins PCDEB Conference on Digitization and Digitalization in Business
Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) actively participated in the 22nd Annual National Conference of the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) from April 12-14, 2023. The conference, held at BIG Hotel in Mandaue City, Cebu, was centered around “Digitization and Digitalization in Business Education: Opportunities and Challenges” and comprised plenary sessions and workshops.
The conference delved into various topics related to digitization and digitalization in business education. Plenary 1 examined the challenges and opportunities of massive open online courses (MOOCs) in business education. Plenary 2 explored the differences between digitization and digitalization in business education. Plenary 3 focused on the challenges of digitization and digitalization in business research, while Plenary 4 discussed the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology in financial and human resource management. Finally, Plenary 5 talked about the implications of digital transformation in marketing management education.
The said conference served as a platform for school officials, deans, business educators, and industry partners to exchange ideas and best practices related to digitization and digitalization in business education.
PCDEB President, Dr. Maria Victoria U. Rosas, emphasized the importance of digitization and digitalization in improving business processes and urged educators to capitalize on these concepts to better deliver knowledge to technology-savvy learners.
CMC’s College of Accountancy and Business Management Education (CABME) was well-represented at the conference, with CABME Dean Dr. Maria Regina E. Carlos and CABME Faculty Dr. Esther Lyn T. Angeles. They have actively participated in plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions.
The conference provided networking and collaboration opportunities, enabling participants to establish meaningful partnerships and explore potential collaborations that could benefit their respective institutions.
The 22nd Annual National Conference of the PCDEB reaffirmed CMC’s commitment to enhancing academic offerings and staying relevant in the constantly evolving business landscape. The knowledge and insights gained from the conference will assist CMC in providing quality business education to its students, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in the digitized and digitalized world of business.
With its commitment to quality education, the CMC College of Accountancy and Business Management Education (CABME) at CMC has achieved Level III Accreditation Status from ACSCU-ACI. This accreditation signifies that the program has satisfied strict criteria for quality education, delivering students with excellent academic training and preparing them to become competent individuals in the business field.
