CMC Empowers
Women Globally
Via
Internationalization:
Dr. Gosadan’s AWE
Success
Central
Mindanao Colleges (CMC) has been actively pursuing internationalization and
linkages initiatives to prepare its students and faculty for success in today’s
globalized world. One example of the success of these initiatives is Dr.
Beatriz D. Gosadan, a faculty member at CMC and an alumna of the De La Salle
University Libraries, who graduated from the second cohort of the Academy for
Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Manila on March 31, 2023.
AWE
is a new program by the United States government aimed at empowering and
supporting women entrepreneurs worldwide.
Dr.
Gosadan considers being a part of AWE a wonderful opportunity as it enabled her
to connect with international networks of companies, women entrepreneurs, and
mentors who share the same perspective in their respective regions and in the
United States. She dedicates her success to all women worldwide, particularly
the IP women who will contribute to empowering other women in their tribe. She
encourages everyone to reach for their stars and radiate for the world to see
women’s achievements.
CMC’s
internationalization initiatives have established partnerships and
collaborations with various international universities and organizations to
provide students with opportunities for study abroad, international internships,
and cultural exchange programs. These initiatives aim to expose students to
different perspectives, cultures, and ways of life and equip them with the
intercultural competence and language skills needed to succeed in today’s
interconnected world.
Through
hosting international scholars, hosting international conferences and events,
and fostering cross-border collaboration, CMC is also able to bring a global
perspective to the college community. CMC’s internationalization initiatives
also promote international peace and understanding by encouraging students and
faculty to engage in cross-cultural dialogue and to work together on projects
that address global issues.
Dr.
Gosadan’s success in the AWE program is a testament to the effectiveness of
CMC’s internationalization and linkages initiatives. She hopes to bring AWE to
North Cotabato to inspire and encourage other women in Mindanao.
CMC’s
efforts to intensify its internationalization initiatives are an important
aspect of its mission to provide students with a well-rounded education that
prepares them for success in today’s globalized world.
